NATALIE J
THE NIGHT TRAIN

Home Page

As the Producer/Host of 1430 AM KCOH Radio Natalie J The Night Train, I had the opportunity to broadcast the distress of a Hurricane Katrina family, and brought the Director of FEMA to the show. Together, this family was able to received promised benefits to assist them during their time of strife.

A group of parents from Key Middle School appeared on the show, sharing the health risk their children were experiencing not only from Hurricane Katrina but also Alicia. The Federal government was order in by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and the issues and placement of students was resolved.

However, it was the Hispanic family who was facing homelessness after 30 yrs in their own home, because of the back injuries incurred by the husband, he was no longer able to work. My voice went out on the airwaves and made little tangible results. The couple lost there home, even though, they pleaded and cried to listeners.

This reminded me of my conversation with the AIDS Foundation. I was willing to assist them with a population they did not expect to survive the AID epidemic...the teens. These young men and women had no skill sets, because they were on death row. However, to the surprise of all, here they are homeless, and unemployable. The AIDS Foundation declined my offer.

I later was contracted with the City of Houston to work with community providing media skills program. My group, another disposable set of teens...Foster Care. This was heart wrenching, immigration issues, felonies, drugs, abandonment, young people with no life.
